Install in three steps
- Open the downloaded DMG and drag NeatShot into Applications.
- Open NeatShot. Its icon appears in the menu bar.
- Follow the short setup guide and allow Screen Recording in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
Permissions, explained
- Screen Recording
- Required to capture the screen.
- Accessibility
- Optional: automatic scrolling and step names in guides. Called Device Control & Data Access on macOS 27.
- Microphone & Camera
- Optional: only when you record with sound or your camera.
- Input Monitoring
- Optional: only to show keystrokes in recordings.
